Bio

Erbomb is an electronic/experimental music project conceived and formed by Francesco Simula, a musician and guitarist from Sassari (Sardinia/Italy). The project began in 2011, and over the years, the tracks that would make up the first demo were released. In 2015, the track "Techno Glass" was released and used as the soundtrack for a stop-motion video by French filmmaker Florentine Grelier. The debut album, "Mars Roll," was released in 2019. An article dedicated to the project appeared in the music encyclopedia *Boghes e Sonos* by Gi. Serreli, an established television journalist, who wrote: "The album's eleven tracks highlight the attempt to blend flawless fingerstyle guitar technique with techno/electronic music" (p. 427). In 2020, the single "Cowdome" was released, followed in 2021 by the single "Etna"; a year later, the CD *Stalemate* (2020), containing 10 tracks, was issued. The album was well-received by critics; the *Sascena* portal wrote: "*Stalemate* perfectly embodies what it means to make music today: grappling with one's own history and the history of music, and engaging with the immense possibilities offered by new technologies—all while maintaining the approach of an old-school scribe or a sound artisan working in total solitude, yet remaining connected to the surrounding reality. Ten tracks that reveal a mature and sensitive artist, focused not only on the nature of sound but also on song structure and the listener's experience." In May 2026, the EP *3* was released, featuring six previously unreleased tracks. The release was highly acclaimed by the press; it was written: "*3* also serves as a key piece for understanding a broader context: that of the Sardinian underground scene—a subject still discussed far too little." Francesco Simula is one of the most interesting examples of this: an artist working far from the music industry's most visible hubs, yet forging a personal, recognizable aesthetic that operates outside the market's most obvious dynamics.
